about

super35 is a Sydney-based wedding photography studio built around a simple idea: work less, pay closer attention, and let the day unfold as it actually happens.

We photograph a deliberately limited number of weddings each year so we can stay present, work with intention, and give each story the time it deserves, before, during, and after the day.

where it started.

Before Super35, we worked the way many wedding photographers do. Full calendars, consecutive weekends, and long seasons with little space in between.

At first, it felt productive. Over time, it became unsustainable.

Shooting too many weddings each month meant less time to reset, less time to reflect, and long backlogs after the day itself. Editing stretched on. Delivery slowed. The work became reactive instead of considered.

The issue wasn’t the weddings.
It was the pace.

why 35 matters.

Limiting our calendar allows us to stay fully invested in every couple we photograph.

It means:

  • thoughtful preparation
  • real presence on the day
  • consistent post-production
  • and delivery without backlog

Every gallery is completed and delivered within seven days, not because we rush, but because time is protected.

When you book Super35, you’re not one of many.
You’re one of thirty-five.

Answers to common questions about how we work, why we limit our calendar, and what shapes our approach. If anything isn’t covered, feel free to get in touch.

Why do you limit the number of weddings you take on each year?

We found that shooting too many weddings led to long backlogs and less considered work. Limiting our calendar allows us to stay present, deliver thoughtfully, and avoid rushed editing.

What does a documentary-first approach mean?

It means we observe more than we direct. We prioritise genuine moments over staged poses, intervening only when guidance truly enhances the story.

Do you use shot lists or pose couples?

We avoid rigid shot lists and heavy posing. Light direction is offered only when it genuinely supports the flow of the day without interrupting it.

Why do you deliver galleries within seven days?

Because our calendar is intentionally restricted, we have the time to edit promptly and deliver thoughtfully, without waiting months to complete every wedding.

What inspired the name “super35”?

The name comes from the Super 35 film format, a system known for rich, flexible storytelling. It reflects our focus on gathering context, not just capturing moments.

Is the focus more on art or service?

Both are important to us. We care deeply about the way we work, how we show up, how we see the day, and how we deliver — but always with the couple’s experience at the centre.

Can we meet you before booking?

Yes. We welcome conversation to make sure the way we work feels right for you before any commitment is made.

Do you photograph events outside Sydney?

Yes, we’re based in Sydney but open to photographing weddings beyond the city. Location-specific logistics can be discussed when you enquire.

Why don’t you offer multiple packages?

We keep our offering simple to avoid confusion and ensure consistency. One collection means one way of working, with clear expectations and value.

if it feels right.

Super35 isn’t built for everyone, and that’s intentional.

If you value restraint over spectacle, presence over production, and a considered way of working, we’d love to hear about the day you’re planning.
