sydney wedding photographer

Super35 is a Sydney-based wedding photography studio offering a documentary-first approach for couples who want their day captured as it actually unfolds.

We photograph a limited number of weddings each year,35 in total, allowing us to stay present, work deliberately, and deliver complete galleries without backlog or delay.

documentary wedding photography in sydney

Our approach is observational and unobtrusive.

Rather than directing every moment or working through rigid shot lists, we focus on what naturally happens, the in-between moments, the quiet exchanges, and the rhythm of the day as it moves from one space to the next.

This style of wedding photography suits couples who value authenticity over performance and prefer their images to feel lived-in rather than staged.

a limited-calendar approach

We take on no more than two to three weddings per month.

This structure exists for a reason. Shooting at high volume leads to rushed timelines, delayed delivery, and less care in post-production. By limiting our calendar, we’re able to remain focused and consistent across every wedding we photograph.

It also allows us to deliver full wedding galleries within seven days, without compromising the work.

two photographers, one story

Every wedding is photographed by two photographers.

This allows us to document different perspectives simultaneously, moments happening across the room, parallel reactions, and context that would otherwise be missed. The result is a more complete visual record of the day, without increasing intrusion or direction.

wedding photography across sydney

We photograph weddings throughout Sydney and surrounding areas, including:

  • Inner West
  • Eastern Suburbs
  • North Shore
  • Northern Beaches
  • Parramatta and Greater Western Sydney

Our experience includes intimate gatherings, at-home celebrations, traditional ceremonies, and venue-based weddings across the city.

pre-wedding & engagement photography

Pre-wedding sessions are available and priced separately.

These sessions follow the same documentary approach and are often held at meaningful locations, at home, outdoors, or somewhere familiar. They’re ideal for couples who want relaxed imagery without heavy posing, and can also help ease into the experience ahead of the wedding day.

is this the right fit?

Super35 is not designed for couples seeking heavy direction, extensive posing, or high-volume coverage.

It’s built for those who value presence, restraint, and a considered way of working, and who prefer their wedding photographs to reflect how the day felt, not how it was staged.

Answers to common questions about our approach to wedding photography in Sydney, including coverage, style, and how to enquire.

What should you look for in a Sydney wedding photographer?

When choosing a Sydney wedding photographer, it helps to look for a consistent portfolio, a style you genuinely connect with, and experience photographing full wedding days.

What photography styles are common for Sydney weddings?

Sydney wedding photography often includes documentary, editorial, and classic styles. Documentary photography has become increasingly popular because it focuses on capturing real moments rather than staged images.

How far in advance should we book a Sydney wedding photographer?

Most couples book their wedding photographer once they have secured their venue and wedding date. Popular dates in Sydney can book well in advance, particularly during peak wedding seasons.

Do you photograph weddings across Sydney?

Yes. Coverage typically includes weddings across Sydney, from the Northern Beaches and Inner West to the CBD, Eastern Suburbs, and surrounding areas.

How many hours of coverage do wedding photographers usually provide?

Coverage often ranges from partial day coverage to full day coverage, depending on the schedule and how much of the day the couple wants documented.

What moments are usually photographed during a wedding day?

Typical coverage may include:

  • preparation before the ceremony
  • the ceremony itself
  • portraits of the couple
  • family photographs
  • reception moments and celebrations

Together these images create a visual record of the day.

What makes documentary wedding photography popular in Sydney?

Many couples prefer a documentary approach because it captures genuine emotions and interactions throughout the wedding day without interrupting the flow of events.

Do wedding photographers help with planning timelines?

Yes. Photographers often help couples plan a timeline that works with ceremony times, travel between locations, and the best natural light during the day.

How many weddings do you photograph each year?

Many photographers limit the number of weddings they photograph each year to maintain quality, provide personal attention, and ensure each couple receives thoughtful coverage.

How do we enquire about wedding photography in Sydney?

The easiest way is to get in touch with your wedding date, venue, and a few details about your plans so availability and coverage options can be discussed.
