wedding photographer sydney

Super 35 is a Sydney-based wedding photographer service built on documentary principles. We photograph 35 weddings per year with two photographers working together at every wedding.

documentary wedding photography

Our approach is observational. We document what happens rather than constructing moments that might happen. The work reflects how your wedding actually unfolded.

We use Super 35 cinema framing for everything we shoot. This aspect ratio shapes how we see and compose in real time. It’s a deliberate constraint that defines our visual language.

You get a complete record of your day photographed by two people working in sync. We deliver all edited images within seven days of your wedding.

why we limit our calendar

We photograph 35 weddings each year. This number lets us maintain consistency in how we work and deliver. It also means we’re not available for every date.

Two photographers attend every wedding we take on. This isn’t backup coverage or a second shooter model. We work as a pair with equal responsibility for the day.

You receive fully edited images within one week. Most wedding photographers take four to eight weeks. We’ve built our workflow to move faster without compromising on editing standards.

observation over direction

We don’t pose or direct during your wedding. Our role is to be present and responsive to what’s happening around us. This requires reading situations quickly and positioning ourselves where moments are likely to occur.

The documentary approach means your photos reflect actual events and genuine reactions. You won’t see repeated setups or staged interactions in our work. What you see is what happened.

two photographers at every wedding

Having two photographers changes what we can capture. While one frames a wide view of the ceremony, the other focuses on detail and reaction. We cover more ground and miss fewer moments.

This isn’t about volume. It’s about perspective and completeness. Two people see differently and respond to different moments within the same event.

is this approach right for you

This works well for couples who want documentation over decoration. If you’re comfortable with a photographer who observes rather than orchestrates, our approach will suit you. If you want highly directed portraits or styled shots throughout the day, it probably won’t.

Our clients typically value authenticity over aesthetic trends. They’re more interested in how things actually looked and felt than in creating a particular visual style. They trust us to do our work without needing to see shot lists or mood boards.

Below are answers to frequently asked questions about our approach and coverage.

What's included in your wedding photographer service?

Two photographers for full-day coverage, all edited high-resolution images delivered within seven days, and a private online gallery. No albums or prints are included in the base package but can be added.

How many photos do you deliver?

This varies based on the length and pace of your wedding, typically between 600 and 900 edited images. We deliver everything we consider finished work, not a predetermined number.

Do you shoot both digital and film?

We shoot entirely on digital cameras. This gives us the reliability and workflow speed needed to deliver within seven days while maintaining our quality standards.

Can we have an engagement session?

We don’t offer engagement sessions as a standard inclusion. Our focus is on wedding day documentation. If you’d like pre-wedding photos, we can arrange a separate session for an additional fee.

Do you travel outside Sydney?

Yes, we regularly work throughout NSW and can travel to other states or internationally. Travel costs are additional and depend on location and logistics.

What if we want some family group photos?

We can photograph family groups during your wedding day. We’ll need a list beforehand and someone to help gather people. These are still shot in our documentary style rather than as formal studio-style portraits.

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book between 8 and 18 months before their wedding. Popular dates fill up earlier. If your wedding is within six months, contact us to check current availability.

What happens if you're sick on our wedding day?

We maintain relationships with a small group of documentary photographers whose work aligns with ours. If either of us is unable to attend due to illness or emergency, we arrange a replacement and inform you immediately.

Can we see a full wedding gallery before booking?

Yes, we can provide access to complete wedding galleries from recent work. This gives you a realistic sense of coverage, editing style, and how we work across a full day.

How do we book you as our wedding photographer?

Contact us with your wedding date and location. If we’re available, we’ll send through our pricing and process document. Booking requires a signed agreement and deposit to secure your date.
