Ayisha and Dylan’s engagement session took place during a small gathering at Dylan’s parents’ home in Pymble, more of an engagement party than a traditional shoot.

Friends and family moved through the house as the afternoon unfolded. Conversations overlapped, glasses were refilled, and moments came and went without needing to be shaped or staged. The setting set the tone: familiar, unforced, and grounded in connection rather than performance.

Photographing an engagement gathering shifts the focus away from the couple alone and towards the people around them. Reactions, interactions, and small exchanges became just as important as the moments between Ayisha and Dylan themselves.

We worked quietly, allowing the day to find its own rhythm. There was no formal direction, no interruption to what was already happening. The home carried its own energy, one shaped by family, history, and ease.

Rather than marking the engagement with posed portraits or set moments, the afternoon was documented as it was lived. A chapter shared with the people closest to them, captured honestly and without expectation.
